Manchester United have added Barcelona left-back to their list of targets for the summer as they want to bolster the left flank.

Manchester United completed the signing of Patrick Dorgu from Lecce for a fee worth over 25 million pounds, but the club are looking to add a new left-back in the summer.

The wing-back positions are crucial in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system and the club are looking for a player who is good with the ball, has good pace, dribbles, creates chances, and most importantly defensive work.

Luke Shaw has been struggling with injuries over the past seasons with the England international reportedly suffering a new injury setback during training with the squad.

Tyrell Malacia joined Dutch side PSV Eindhoven on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Manchester United are interested in Alejandro Balde

According to GiveMeSport, Manchester United has a left-back on their agenda for the summer and they are monitoring Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde as they look to bolster that position.

The reports stated that Alejandro Balde was earmarked as a potential acquisition as he would bring dynamism and attacking thrust to Ruben Amorim’s play.

Barcelona would not easily let Alejandro Balde in the summer and only a big offer could convince them to do a deal. The Spain international is their first-choice left-back and has been impressive this season.

Manchester United could decide to part ways with Luke Shaw in the summer with Tyrell Malacia likely to secure a permanent move away at the end of the season.

Ruben Amorim only had a few players in that position with some of the players still adapting to his 3-4-3 system. Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho are sometimes deployed in the wing-back position but with only a few attacking options for the manager, they could play less in that role.
