Manchester United are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha in the summer and the Bundesliga club has named its price.
Manchester United has started talks internally about positions that need to be strengthened next and a midfielder has emerged as an important signing for the manager this summer.
Since taking charge of the club in November 2024, Ruben Amorim has not been properly backed by Manchester United in the transfer window. The Portuguese manager came in with a different style of play and needs players who suit his system.
Manchester United was able to sign only two players for the manager in the winter transfer window, with Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven joining from Lecce and Arsenal.
Marcus Rashford, Antony Dos Santos, and Tyrell Malacia left the club on loan in the January transfer window, but the club failed to sign a replacement for the manager.
Felix Nmecha to Manchester United?
Manchester United’s interest in Felix Nmecha has been confirmed by multiple sources and a recent report from Sky Germany has revealed that the Red Devils are prepared to sign the 24-year-old midfielder in the summer transfer window.
However, Borussia Dortmund does not want the player to leave the club in the summer and will likely demand big money to let him leave. Manchester United’s Jason Wilcox knew Nmecha when he was at City’s academy, according to Sky Germany.
How much will Nmecha cost?
Borussia Dortmund will demand more than €50 million before considering selling Felix Nmecha in the summer, according to Sky Sports. The Germany international has a contract until 2028 with Borussia Dortmund.
Manchester United are expected to release or sell some players in the midfield position during the summer transfer window and that could free up spaces for another player to come in.
Christain Eriksen’s contract will expire in the summer and he is expected to leave as a free agent while Casemiro has been linked with a move away in the summer.
Felix Nmecha is one of the players on Manchester United’s shortlist for the midfield position and the Red Devils could do a deal with Borussia Dortmund in the summer as the relationship between the two clubs is good.
