Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund came off the bench to secure a 1-0 victory for his country Denmark against Portugal in the first leg of the Nations League quarter-final.
Rasmus Hojlund’s first goal of the year for Manchester United came against Leicester City in their last Premier League game which ended in a 0-3 victory at the King Power Stadium.
The 22-year-old Danish striker has endured a 21-goal drought for Manchester United. Before that, he struggled to find the net for his country, but the manager openly trusted him despite his struggles.
Rasmus Hojlund failed to score in 13 games for the Denmark national team before the game against Portugal. The match that saw five Manchester United featured with Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, and Christian Eriksen started for their respective country.
Patrick Dorgu and Rasmus Hojlund started the game from the bench, but both were introduced in the second half and played a crucial part in the victory.
Rasmus Hojlund came in the 67th minute of the game and scored the winner in the 78th minute. After he scored, Hojlund did the iconic Cristiano Ronaldo’s “siuu” celebration while the Manchester United legend watched from a distance.

The 22-year-old revealed after the game that he always dreamed of doing Cristiano Ronaldo’s celebration, especially against him and it wasn’t arrogance but a sign of respect.
