A new report has stated that Manchester United and Ruben Amorim have decided to prioritize signing Super Eagle striker Victor Osimhen in the summer.
Manchester United are almost in the relegation zone in the Premier League table with the result yet to improve under Ruben Amorim.
The Portuguese manager came in with a different system which he has been using to flourish over the past seasons, but the Manchester United players are still adapting to the style and results have been poor.
One of the major issues at the club is the lack of goals. Ruben Amorim’s team has been struggling in front of goals despite the availability of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
With Amad Diallo currently out of the season due to an injury he suffered in training, the club can’t bring in any new signing at this stage unless they look at the free-agent market. Although, they have made the striker position a priority in the summer.
Manchester United have been linked with a lot of strikers in the past few weeks, including Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen who is on loan from Napoli.
According to a report from GiveMeSport, Ruben Amorim and the club have decided to prioritize signing Victor Osimhen in the summer transfer window.
United could face the same situation as Chelsea
Manchester United could be in the same situation that Chelsea found themselves during the last summer transfer window. The Blues agreed on a fee with Napoli for the signing of Victor Osimhen as a new striker but failed to agree personal terms with the player.
The reports from GiveMeSport have stated that Manchester United are hoping to convince Victor Osimhen to take a pay cut to fit him into their salary structure as the 26-year-old is currently on more than £250,000-per-week salary.
A few months ago, Victor Osimhen refused to take a pay cut to join Chelsea before Galatasaray came in to sign him on loan at the last minute. The Turkish club agreed to cover his salary at Napoli until the end of the season and he has been impressive this season.
Manchester United may find themselves in the same situation despite deciding to pursue a deal in the summer. The club are also interested in Liam Delap and Sesko.
