Manchester United lost yet another Premier League game on Sunday as West Ham put two goals past Ruben Amorim’s team at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim took charge of Manchester United in November 2024 after the departure of Erik ten Hag. Ruud van Nistelrooy took over as caretaker manager for a few games before Amorim came in.

When Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy left, Manchester United was about four points off the top four in the Premier League. The Portuguese manager has just won 6 games out of 26 in the League.

Questions are raised about his future at Manchester United after yet another defeat at home against West Ham. Ruben Amorim said he “feels embarrassed” whenever he looks at the Premier League table. The Red Devils currently sit in 16th place.

Will Manchester United sack Ruben Amorim?

Manchester United will not sack Ruben Amorim even though the manager fails to win the Europa League trophy this month. As per SullyTalkz on X, the club is expected to back him in the summer transfer window.

Ruben Amorim left his job at Sporting CP and took charge of Manchester United in November, in the middle of the season, without bringing players who suited his style of play.

Manchester United signed Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven during the winter transfer window and failed to bring a new number 10 or a striker for the manager, despite that Antony and Marcus Rashford left on loan.

Ruben Amorim also had serious problems with injuries since he took charge, and it has affected the club. The main focus now is to win the Europa League this month and prepare for next season.

Manchester United are planning to make a massive clear-out in the summer and will bring in players who suit the manager’s system. Manchester United are in advanced talks to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolves and are prepared to pay his release clause this summer.

Liam Delap is also another player Manchester United are targeting for the striker position. He has a release clause of 30 million pounds after Ipswich Town were relegated from the Premier League.
