Fabrizio Romano has given an exciting update on Manchester United striker Chido Obi-Martin amid Ruben Amorim’s need for a striker in the second half of the season.

Manchester United signed Chido Obi-Martin in the summer of 2024 after the teenage striker rejected a new contract from Arsenal.

There were a lot of clubs chasing Chido Obi last summer including Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, but Manchester United secured his signature with an exciting project for the present and the future.

Chido Obi-Martin joined Manchester United when he was 16 years old, but signed his first professional contract at the club when he turned 17 years old in November.

Since joining Manchester United, Chido Obi has improved more with the ball on his feet and his linked-up play is good. Chido Obi started from the under-18s with the Danish talented striker scoring a 14th-minute hat-trick in his first start.

He has since then moved to the under-21s and has registered a total of 10 goal contributions for the Manchester United academy.

What did Fabrizio Romano say about Chido Obi-Martin?

Manchester United fans are desperate to see Chido Obi-Martin playing for the first team due to his talent and his physicality at his age.

Ruben Amorim is seriously in need of a striker with Manchester United failing to sign Mathys Tel in the winter. The expectation was that Chido Obi-Martin would be given a chance in the first team.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that he would not be surprised if Chido Obi-Martin gets the chance in the first team from now to the end of the season as he is part of the future.

Multiple reports have stated that Chido Obi-Martin has been training under Ruben Amorim while playing for the under-18s and under-21s.

The 17-year-old striker could be called upon anytime if he shows in training that he has what it takes to play in the first team.
