Manchester United debutant Chido Obi is being helped by senior first-team players to settle at the club, following his involvement under Ruben Amorim.

Chido Obi has been training with Manchester United’s senior team since the arrival of Ruben Amorim and gets his first involvement in the game against Tottenham on Sunday.

Manchester United traveled to Tottenham on Sunday as they resumed Premier League action, but Ruben Amorim’s side failed to take the three points as James Maddison’s first-half goal secured the win for the host.

Ruben Amorim was without 12 first-team players after the injuries suffered in training last week. The manager will be without Lisandro Martinez and Amad Diallo until the end of the season.

Due to the number of injuries suffered in training, Ruben Amorim decided to involve some academy players in the squad, the game saw Chido Obi make his debut for the club, coming on in the last minute of the game.

How Dorgu and Zirkzee are helping Chido Obi?

According to a new report from MailSport, Joshua Zirkzee is providing something of an older brother role for Chido Obi while his fellow Dane Patrick Dorgu has been key to helping the player settle into the first-team dressing room.

After the Tottenham game, Joshua Zirkzee commented on Chido Obi’s Instagram post as he congratulated the Danish talent for his debut.

The 17-year-old has made an impression on Ruben Amorim and he was picked over other academy players for the Tottenham game. He is expected to be involved more with the first team due to the number of injuries.

Amad Diallo will be out until the end of the season and that left the manager with just Rasmus Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee, and Alejandro Garnacho as his attacking options. Chido Obi could be promoted to the first team permanently.
