According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have started talks with Serie A club Lecce to sign Danish left-back Patrick Dorgu.
Manchester United have been looking to sign wing-backs for Ruben Amorim since he took charge in November 2024.
The left-back position has always been a problem for Manchester United with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia struggling with injuries over the past seasons. Strengthening the backline became a priority for the club this winter transfer window.

According to Fabrizio Romano, talks have begun between Manchester United and Lecce for Patrick Dorgu. The Red Devils know that the player wants to join the now.
He is open to a move to the club and begins a new challenge in the Premier League. Reports from Italy have stated that talks have intensified in the last hours and Dorgu’s agent was in Manchester today.
Manchester United has other players in that position on their list including Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, Ait Nouri, and Crystal Palace’s Tyrick Mitchell.
Paris Saint Germain’s left-back Nuno Mendes who has worked under Ruben Amorim at Sporting CP is also on United’s list at the start of the month, but he now seems to stay at PSG.
Patrick Dorgu’s price tag revealed
According to Fabrizio Romano, Lecce wants around 40 million euros for Patrick Dorgu, but 35 million euros plus bonus can get the deal done. The player wants to join Manchester United now.
The 20-year-old will be excited to reunite with his countrymen Rasmus Hojlund and Christain Eriksen at Manchester United. Dorgu was crowned Denmark’s Young Player of the Year in 2024.
