On Friday night, Manchester United’s new signing Patrick Dorgu debuted in the FA Cup 4th round against Leicester City at Old Trafford.

Manchester United were back to FA Cup action on Friday night against Leicester City after the last defeat in the Premier League. Joshua Zirkzee and Harry Maguire bailed the team out in the 68th and 90 + 3 minutes of the game.

Ruben Amorim and his team had a very poor first half against Leicester City with the team recording 0 shots on target. Leicester City were playing like the home team.

Leicester City’s first-half performance was rewarded with a well-deserved lead before the end of the half as Bobby put them ahead in the 42 minutes of the game.

Ruben Amorim’s subs made the difference for him in the second half with Alejandro Garnacho and Joshua Zikzee coming on.

Joshua Zirkzee made it 1-1 in the 68th minute after a lovely deflected cross from Alejandro Garnacho. The Dutch forward brought Manchester United back to the game before Harry Maguire’s last-minute header.

Harry Maguire looks to be in the offside position, but there was no VAR at that stage of the competition so the goal stands.

Patrick Dorgu should have started from the left

Patrick Dorgu who debuted against Leicester City in the FA Cup started the game in a position that the fans were not comfortable with and Ruben Amorim may consider making a change in the next game.

Patrick Dorgu joined from Lecce in the winter transfer window and the expectation is that he will be coming to occupy the left-wing position that has been a problem this season.

However, the Danish youngster started the game from the right-wing position while Diogo Dalot started as the right-wing back.

Understandably, the fans were not happy with the decision from the manager. Patrick Dorgu did well in his first 45 minutes in a Manchester United shirt, but he was known for playing from the left flank for Lecce and the Denmark national team.

Patrick Dorgu is a big threat running from the left flank and can cross the ball directly with his left foot. Although he has played in both flanks throughout his career, but the belief is that he will do better from the left.
