Manchester United will be looking for a striker in the summer transfer window after Ruben Amorim’s priority target is unlikely to move to Old Trafford.
The striker position is one of the areas Manchester United are set to prioritizeย in the summer with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggling to meet the manager’s demands.
The two Manchester United have just scored 1 combined goal for the club since the start of 2025 which is not good enough. The goal came in the 2-1 victory over Leicester City with Zirkzee scoring the equalizer from the bench.
Rasmus Hojlund was impressive in his first few games under Ruben Amorim, scoring 5 goals including a brace in the Europa League match against FC Viktoria Plzeล.
Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund were strongly linked with a move away in the winter transfer market, but the club decided to keep them with Zirkzee not willing to make a move as he wants to fight for his place at the club.
Victor Osimhen has admirers at Old Trafford
According to a new report from Jacobs Ben, Super Eagle striker Victor Osimhen is on Manchester United’s radar for the summer and has admirers at the club.
Viktor Gyokeres is reportedly Ruben Amorim’s first choice target for the striker position in the summer, but the club are not willing to match his 60 million pound release clause.
Manchester United doesn’t want to pay 60 million for a player who will turn 27 years old in June and they will be looking at other targets as a move is highly unlikely at this stage.
Victor Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray is a long-term target for Manchester United and has been impressive in the Turkish league since joining in the summer of 2024. It remains to be seen whether the Red Devils would make moves to bring him to Old Trafford.
Ipswich’s Liam Delap is also on the list ahead of the summer transfer market and his price would reduce significantly if his club relegated at the end of the season.
The 22-year-old England international has reportedly impressed the club and he fits the bill. The club’s new approach under INEOS is to target young players with good potential.
