The expectation on Thursday is that Ruben Amorim will give Altay Bayindir a chance in goal ahead of first-choice goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Andre Onana made a very huge mistake in the 3-1 defeat against Brighton with the 28-year-old failing to get hold of the ball, leaving Brighton’s forward Georginio Rutter to seal the victory at Old Trafford.
Regardless of the error, the feeling is that Altay Bayindir will be given another chance in goal after his stunning performance in the FA Cup against Arsenal. Ruben Amorim will have no fear putting the 26-year-old in goal against Rangers.
In defence, Lisandro Martinez may start after being left on the bench in the last game against Brighton. Harry Maguire and Matthijs De Ligt could partner with the Argentine at the back with Leny Yoro dropped to the bench.
In midfield, Toby Collyer may be handling his first start under Ruben Amorim after coming on from the bench in three consecutive games. The English midfielder did a fantastic job against Arsenal when he came from the bench.
He may form a pivot with Bruno Fernandes in midfield on Thursday with Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte on the bench.
Amad Diallo could start as a wing-back with Diogo Dalot starting from the left flank. Amad has thrived in all positions under Ruben Amorim and he has a very good work-rate.
In attack, Christain Eriksen could be given a start after his last performance off the bench against Southampton, with Alejandro Garnacho returning to the XI.
Rasmus Hojlund could replace Joshua Zirkzee as the striker after starting from the bench against Brighton.
