Joseph Junior Gabriel, popularly known as Kid Messi, scored for Manchester United’s U18s as he came off the bench in a comfortable 4-0 victory over Stoke City.
Manchester United signed JJ Gabriel and Cristiano Junior in 2022 under Dutch manager Erik ten Hag. The club decided to invest in Gabriel as he is seen as a huge talent and the best amongst his mates.
JJ Gabriel made history a few weeks ago, coming off the bench for the Manchester United U18s against Leeds United, and scored a brace. He became the youngest player in the club’s history to make his debut at the age of 14.
Manchester United decided to promote him to the U18s this season due to the level of his talent. Although he has been following and training with the U18s since last season, but handled his debut in early April.
JJ Gabriel’s goal vs Stoke City
14-year-old Joseph Junior Gabriel was named on the bench for the Manchester United U18s penultimate match of the season. He came on for Ibragimov in the 70th minute of the game and scored in the 90th minute to make it 4-0 for the host.

JJ Gabriel was involved in Manchester United’s third goal of the night. The 14-year-old with an excellent strike from range, which smashes off the crossbar and is bundled in by a Stoke defender.
Will JJ Gabriel leave Manchester United?
JJ Gabriel is seen around Europe as the next big thing coming up and the best at his age. Many top clubs are monitoring the player and would want to take him from Manchester United.
However, reports have stated that Manchester United will do everything to keep him at the club. He is seen as one of the future stars for the first team. Gabriel is currently in a good environment and improving; leaving Old Trafford might not be the best decision for his growth.
JJ Gabriel has visited Barcelona and met with some top players including the likes of Lamine Yamal and Pedri. It was reported that Barcelona are one of the clubs interested in signing him.
Manchester United will try to keep him. JJ Gabriel will be eligible to sign his first professional contract at the club when he turns 17 years old.
The 14-year-old recently signed for Nike, and MailSports reported that Adidas went to war with Nike for his signature, as he is seen as the next in line to Cristiano Ronaldo’s throne.
