Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho has sent a five-word message to Barcelona talent Lamine Yamal after his Champions League performance against Inter Milan.
Alejandro Garnacho is currently in Spain as they prepare to face La Liga side Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League semi-final first leg. The game is seen as the most important game of the season for the club.
Manchester United’s form in the Premier League this season is nowhere near good enough, and winning the Europa League trophy will help the club financially and boost their chance of signing top players in the summer.
While in Spain preparing for the Europa League game, Alejandro Garnacho was watching the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg between Barcelona and Inter Milan. A game which 17-year-old Lamine Yamal stole the show.
Lamine Yamal made his debut at the age of 15, under Spanish manager and Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez. The 2007-born winger is doing incredible things at his age, and top players are applauding him.
What did Garnacho say to Yamal?
Alejandro Garnacho has appreciated Lamine Yamal with a five-word message after the 17-year-old posted some moments from the game against Inter Milan with a caption “++++” Garnacho replied to him saying “Best player in the world” with a WOW emoji.
Alejandro Garnacho praises the talented winger after his incredible performance on the biggest stage. Although Garnacho was not the only player who praised Lamine Yamal last night, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland also praised him on his Snapchat account.
“I haven’t seen a player like Lamine Yamal in the last eight or nine years. We had to put three players on him.” Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi said after the game.
“As a pure football talent, I’m going as far as to say I think Lamine Yamal is on another level to any player playing the game in the top 5 leagues in world football. 17 years old – Truly unbelievable”. Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand said.
Some Manchester United fans are not happy with Alejandro Garnacho’s comment under Lamine Yamal’s post, but it’s normal to appreciate talent. Marcus Rashford and Yamal followed each other on Instagram, and both players have praised themselves on multiple occasions.
Alejandro Garnacho has had a lot of goal contributions this season, but he knows he still has work to do. Although the team is still adapting to a new system under Ruben Amorim, but will be hoping to end the season with the Europa League trophy.
Manchester United have been linked with a move for top players this summer, but in order to bring them in, the club may need to qualify for UEFA Champions League football next season.
Multiple reports have stated that the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Liam Delap are waiting to see which European competition the club qualifies to play next season before deciding on their future. Both strikers has a release clause that can be triggered.
“I didn’t talk to Viktor [Gyökeres], but if a player only wants to join Manchester United to play the Champions League, then that player will not come to United. We want players who want to represent United and not players who wanna play only certain competitions,” Ruben Amorim told SportTVPortugal.

Bruno Fernandes turned down a life-changing offer from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal and decided to stay at Manchester United this summer.
The Saudi Arabian club was ready to pay what it takes to sign the Manchester United captain ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup this month, but he rejected them.
Bruno Fernandes’ decision to stay at Manchester United and fight to get the club back to the top came as a surprise to many. Manchester United just came off their worst season in the club’s history. Tottenham defeated them in the UEFA Europa League final and failed to qualify for the Champions League, which means a 25% cut from each of the players’ salaries.
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand speaks highly of Bruno Fernandes and described his decision as “loyalty” to the club and fans, as he claimed the captain has unfinished business at Old Trafford.
“If I was him, I think I’d have found it difficult to say no”, Ferdinand told Mirror Football. “I’ve got to be honest. The one thing it says to me, there’s a loyalty. And I think that word gets banded about quite a lot, but we don’t really see it often from the club’s point of view and the players”.
“And listen, I understand it’s a business. But I think he looks at this as pure, “I’ve got unfinished business at United. There’s stuff I want to do here. Yes, I’ve been paid well here. The fans love me.” But I think he’s in the game of wanting to give back after all he’s received. So I’ve got nothing but respect for him. I would have understood him leaving if he left, 100 per cent”
“But the fact that he stayed and said, listen, there’s stuff for me still to do here. I think it’s a testament to him as a person, but also another reason why the managers comfortably give him the armband.”

Manchester United loanee Antony Dos Santos has revealed that he considered retiring from football during challenges off and on the pitch in Manchester.
Antony completed a loan move to Real Betis in the second half of the season, two months after the appointment of Ruben Amorim. Antony is now a different player compared to what everyone saw at Manchester United in past seasons.
The Brazilian winger joined Manchester United from Ajax in 2022 for a fee worth over 100 million euros. He managed 12 goals for the Red Devils during his time at the club and was branded a flop as he failed to meet expectations.
Playing for Manchester United comes with a lot of pressure, and some players struggle to cope with the pressure that comes with wearing the shirt, as the expectations are high.
Speaking to TNT Sports Brazil, Antony got emotional during the interview as he explained what he went through during his stay at Manchester. Erik ten Hag also revealed during his time at the club that Antony’s form was impacted by off-field problems.
“I always say that I had good moments, but I had very difficult moments too. Not only on the field but off it. People who ended up disturbing me a lot mentally, Antony told TNT Sports Brazil.
“I went through some very difficult times there that ended up affecting me a lot. But I am very grateful even for these difficult moments that I went through. Today, I feel much more mature, much more prepared, and I feel much better.
“It was a moment when I thought about stopping playing. I no longer felt that desire to play football because of everything I was going through, because of all the accusations, and because I had remained silent for so long.
“[My career] has changed a lot [at Betis]. It changed a lot because I needed to find myself, for everything I went through there in my personal life. I wanted to do things, but it seemed like it wasn’t happening because I wasn’t happy, I wasn’t feeling that desire to play football anymore, and I needed to find myself.
“Playing football was always something that I loved, and I went through difficult times when I didn’t feel that pleasure anymore.
“I would always talk to my brother, I used to say, ‘I can’t do it anymore, I can’t do it anymore’. He said: ‘Hold on a little longer and things will change’.
“I even get emotional because it was very difficult for me. Only I know what it was like inside the house, not even having the strength to play with my son, having days without eating, staying in my room.
“It was very complicated, but with the help of my family with the help of God, I managed to turn things around. I’m already very happy here.”
Antony has played a key role in Real Betis’ success this season, since he joined the club in January, and will face Chelsea on Wednesday in the Conference League final, hoping to lift the trophy.
“He wanted revenge at Betis, and he did it in a way. We know he can do it, but it is not easy when you pay €100M for a player. He is a great player, and it was a good time in Betis improving in his career, Real Betis manager Pellegrini on Antony ahead of the final.

A new report from France states that Manchester United are in advanced negotiations to appoint Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting director, Luis Campos.
Manchester United’s major aim in the summer transfer window is to bring in players that suit Ruben Amorim’s system, and work has begun behind the scenes on players they want to sign.
Manchester United has Omar Berrada, Jason Wilcox, and Christopher Vivell running things from the inside, but Dan Ashworth, who was appointed as Manchester United’s sporting director last summer, was dismissed.
However, the club has been linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting director and former Chelsea academy chief Jim Fraser, as Jim Ratcliffe sees him as a key capture as they plan to sign leading young talent for the future.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now clarified the situation on his YouTube video, stating Manchester United’s stance and the important role Luis Campos has played at PSG.
Luis Campos to Manchester United?
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester United are not in negotiations to appoint Luis Campos at the moment.
He also stated that Paris Saint-Germain sees him as an important part of their project, and he is more than a sporting director at the club. He has played a big role in the club’s recent success with his recruitment strategy.
At this stage, it’s unknown whether Manchester United are looking to hire a new sporting director, following the departure of Dan Ashworth this season. The club has appointed Christopher Vivell permanently, and Jason Wilcox has taken more responsibility.
Manchester United are already drawing up a list of targets ahead of the summer transfer window, and Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha has emerged as a top target for the number 10 role under Ruben Amorim.
Reports have confirmed that Manchester United are prepared to trigger his release clause, and the player is willing to join the club with or without UEFA Champions League football.
Jason Wilcox and Vivell are working closely in the recruitment department as they look to bring in top talent for the academy and first team. It seems clear that the club will not be bringing in a new sporting director this summer.

Casemiro’s future at Manchester United is still in question despite his transformation under Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim.
Casemiro was heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the last two transfer windows, due to his form at the club and his relationship with Dutch manager Erik ten Hag.
The 33-year-old Brazilian was Manchester United’s best player during his first season at the club. He did really well under Erik ten Hag, but at some point, he lost his starting position under the manager.
Casemiro was dropped from the Matchday squad that faced Manchester City in the FA Cup final, despite not being injured. Erik ten Hag decided to start Sofyan Amrabat instead.
Casemiro regained his starting position at Manchester United following the sacking of Erik ten Hag. Although the Brazilian midfielder scored the last goal during Ten Hag’s era.
Ruud van Nistelrooy took charge as Manchester United’s caretaker manager. He started Casemiro in his first game in charge against Leicester City, and he scored a superb goal from outside the box, as he inspired Man United to win.
Will Casemiro leave Manchester United?
Casemiro can still leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window if the player receives a good proposal and if Manchester United are also happy with the offer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The report also stated that Casemiro is very happy at Manchester United, of course with his family, but there’s still a possibility of him leaving if he receives a good proposal.
Casemiro is reborn under Ruben Amorim after a very tough start under the manager. He is very happy with the player, his mentality, and the hard work he has put in to get back into the team.
Sources say Ruben Amorim told Casemiro in a face-to-face meeting how grateful he is for the professionalism and how he is setting an example at Carrington. The relationship between the pair is very good now, per Fabrizio.
Amorim has been impressed by how hard Casemiro has worked to meet his demands to regain his place in the team. He noticed that he never complained during those winter weeks warming the bench.
People at United’s Carrington training complex noticed Casemiro’s personality never wavered during a trying first half of the season. They have always found him to be a warm presence, according to Samuel Luckhurs.
“He has improved a lot, you can see it not in the way he plays, but in the way he runs. We have data that shows he has worked very, very hard. He is a very good example. He wasn’t playing. Even Toby [Collyer] sometimes played in front of him. And now it is difficult to take Casemiro off. So it is a lesson for all the Manchester United players: no matter the past, everything can change in an instant”, Ruben Amorim said about Casemiro.
“We understood that he couldn’t press high all the time. Sometimes it is better to let him be the fourth defender and let the Pistons press high. We understand these little things, we try to adapt to the characteristics of the team. But the credit goes to Casemiro.” He added.
